How to Enjoy Your Assemble-It-Yourself-Potlatch
In many ways, Potlatch is an assemble-it-yourself convention. We provide the hotel (with fabulous ambience, a good restaurant and bar, a coffee stand, comfy rooms, and a marvelous con-suite), a select set of program items, a dealers' room centered on books, and a few other clues that you're going to run into people who like to talk about the same kinds of things you like to talk about (literary science fiction, politics, race, gender, justice, influence of technology on social trends, how much garlic is enough, chocolate, whisky, music, good television, bad movies, the meaning of life, that sort of thing). You provide the energy. You provide the talk, whether you're a panel participant, or reading your work aloud, or sitting around in the con suite or the bar, or going out to dinner with two people you've known for years and three you've never seen before....Read More...

Hotel: BIG NEWS: Potlatch 17 is Moving!

We have signed a contract with the Hotel Deca in the University District and we are very excited about it. The Deca lobby and mezzanine are just made for forming casual conversation groups, a mainstay of Potlatch. The comfy seating! The giant fireplace! The central location, so you can spot your friends! Other amenities include breathtaking views from the consuite level at the top of the hotel, and the fleshpots of the University District at our doorstep. Check the Hotel page for more information.

T-shirts: Once again, the inestimable Freddie Baer has agreed to design the t-shirt for Potlatch 17. And once again, the price will be $15. And once again, the colors available will be black, midnight, coal, fuligin, and toner. And once again, the design will be sure to bring knowing smiles from the cognoscenti. And once again, the shirts are available for pre-ordering, to make sure we have your size in stock (this is especially recommended if you're an adult medium or XXXXL). And once again, the Potlatch t-shirt will be an honored addition to your t-shirt museum, collection, or drawer...
