Clarion West Scholarship Auction
Potlatch 22 is pleased and proud to host the Clarion West Scholarship Auction, which has been held at every Potlatch for the last 21 years. The auction raises funds for the nonprofit Clarion West Writers Workshop. The auction will take place at 4:30pm on Saturday, February 2.
A preview table will be available during the convention, giving you a chance to drool over your heart's desire, a late Valentine's day present, or the best silly thing you ever saw. The catalog list will be posted closer to the date of the auction and selected items will be featured here.
Over the years, Potlatch auctions have received and sold: one of the first personal laser printers; Vonda McIntyre beaded sea creatures and other works of scientific art; Ursula Le Guin-authored, privately distributed chapbooks; original art jewelry by Elise Matthesen and Laurie Toby Edison; and books to tempt even the most eclectic of collectors.
We will accept cash, check, or credit card payments for items purchased at the auction.
The auction is a rollicking good time and an opportunity to acquire fabulous treasures, but it can't happen unless you (yes, you!) donate some of the loot.
What should you give? Cool stuff. Geeky stuff. Techy stuff. Artistic creations. Personalized artifacts. Rare, collectible or otherwise nifty books. Or, perhaps best of all, services (please limit these to the sort that you're willing to describe in public).
All donations are fully tax-deductible and the money is going to a good cause: helping great new writers get some of the best training on the planet so that they can write the stories that you want to read!
Don't have any marvelous swag to donate? Don't be sad. Come buy something instead! Or if your house is full and you still want to support Clarion West, monetary donations are always welcome.
Donated items may be shipped in advance (preferred) or delivered to the Potlatch Membership Table by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 1.
Please email auction coordinator Huw Evans at email@example.com if you have questions or would like to help with the auction.
